My add in works as it used to under Office 2003 SP2 but I have just had a user try to install for the first time on Office 2007 and the toolbar and commandss do not appear. I updated the Add in tho the latest versionof add-in Express (.NET Standard) recently and also updateed to Visual Studio 2005. If that doesn’t work, try plugging the drive into another computer and see if it shows up there. I am having trouble with my Add in when installed on Office 2007.

Sometimes a new piece of software is installed that can corrupt your system so that it no longer recognizes your CD/DVD drive. If you’re still having issues and your drive was showing up earlier, but now it’s gone, you can try to perform a system restore to a time when the drive was working properly.

Read my previous post on how to change drive letters in Windows to see if the drive letter is causing the drive now to show up. You should also make sure the drive has a drive letter assigned to it and that the letter is not already taken by another device. Restart your computer and see if the drive is now recognized. Open an administrator command prompt and copy and paste the following: reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001 If none of that works, you can try editing a registry key that may have gotten deleted or corrupted. Finally, under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device.Ĭlick Next and Windows will detect problems and try to fix them automatically. You can run the troubleshooter by going to Start, Control Panel and then searching for troubleshooter in the search box. If you don’t see it in those two places, you got a hardware or connection problem. Note that this will probably only work if you can see the CD/DVD drive in the BIOS and in Device Manager, but just not anywhere else in Windows. This will automatically diagnose and try to remedy the problem. If you are having the issue on Windows 7, then you can try to run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. Delete both of these and then restart the computer. In the right pane, you should see Upper Filters and Lower Filters. If you want to do it manually, go to regedit and navigate to this entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ You can either do it manually or you can download the fix from Microsoft here: You have to edit two registry entries to fix the problem in Windows XP and Vista. If your Windows XP or Windows Vista computer is not able to recognize the CD/DVD drive, then you might have a classic problem that will probably not show up on any computer that has the most recent Windows updates applied to it. You should make sure that the CD/DVD ROM drive at least shows up as an option in the Boot options page. This is especially true if you gave your computer to someone else for a repair or something of that sort. This is normally very rare, but there are occasions when it can happen. If you recently were in the BIOS, then you should make sure that the drive didn’t get disabled by accident. It’s worth checking this option out if the computer is old. Windows detects Office 2007 Sp1 Update to be installed in the windows update even when it isn't installed. But, I just installed Office 2003 successfully. Insert your Office 2007 CD into the drive. Ok I am still unable to install Office 2007. If you still need to install this version, you'll need an Office 2007 installation disc and a product key for the version you're trying to install. Important: Office 2007 is no longer supported.
